About this place
The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew in south-west London hold all three redwoods, with giant sequoia and coast redwood growing in the gardens; the tallest tree at Kew is a coast redwood of around 40 metres, as high as a 13-storey building. Kew also grows an original dawn redwood from the species' first introduction to the West, one specimen dating to 1949. Entry is paid, by timed ticket.
