About this place
RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey is the Royal Horticultural Society's flagship garden, whose Pinetum holds a collection of mature conifers begun in 1909. It grows giant sequoia, coast redwood and dawn redwood — the dawn redwoods (Metasequoia glyptostroboides) date from the first distribution of the species' seed in 1948, among the earliest planted in England.
