About this place

Holehird Gardens is a fellside garden above Windermere in Cumbria, run by the Lakeland Horticultural Society, with rock and heather gardens, a walled garden and specimen trees set against Lakeland views. Among its conifers are giant sequoia and the deciduous dawn redwood, the latter shedding tawny foliage each autumn. Free to enter with a donation welcomed; open daily dawn to dusk.
